Magician Criss Angel is vehemently denying that he is dating tortured pop princess Britney Spears.
Despite being seen canoodling with Brit last week, and ultimately retiring to her hotel room; Angel says he is just trying to help.
Angel claims: "We were talking about how she wants to do something more with the [awards] show, and about me helping out and hoping to work with her on doing something to make her MTV appearance more innovative.”
Angel and Spears share the same management team, and supposedly has been working on a magic act in conjunction with her rumored appearance at the MTV’s Video Music Awards this September.
Spears appearance at the VMA’s seems to be another illusion altogether. Several sources close to the awards show claim that they have no knowledge of Spears being asked to perform by MTV, or any plans for MTV to add her to the current lineup.
Multiple sources at MTV confirmed that Spears might be “more trouble than she is worth” and that she is “not on the performance lineup at this time”.
Sources reveal that her current behavior while on magazine shoots at Allure and OK! Magazine in combination with trouble at her record label, Jive, have made the upper echelon at corporate Viacom too nervous about Spears appearing at the VMA’s.
TMZ.com caught Spears and Angel at the W Hotel in Los Angeles as they made their way to Spears hotel suite, giggling and groping.
"It's amazing how you can't do anything now without people making up stuff," claimed Angel.
