TV RISING STAR: Miley Cyrus -- No Star By Default
By Stephanie DuBois Sure she's the daughter of Country star Billy Ray Cyrus, but don't call Miley Cyrus a star by default.
And you can rule out nepotism, says her famous dad Billy Ray, who also plays her father on Miley's Disney hit, "Hannah Montana."

"I told Miley early on that there's too many heartaches in the entertainment business," says Cyrus. "And I kind of tried to steer her away from being in this business. Well, you see how well she listened to me."

They say one should be cognizant of what one names a child because it definitely affects your life. So perhaps it's no coincidence that the 13-year-old Miley was born Destiny Hope Cyrus and has succeeded in turning her hopes into her destiny.
"The thing that Miley had was a burning desire," says Billy Ray. "There was no option for her. She was going to be an actress and songwriter and entertainer."

Miley - shortened from Smiley, her Dad's pet name for her as a child - guest-starred on Billy Ray's former Oxygen drama, "Doc" and had a role in the feature film, "Big Fish" before "Hannah Montana." But she still had to go through the regular audition process, beating out some 1000 other girls for the lead. The show scored the highest ratings of any show to debut on the Disney Channel and has gone on to become a runaway hit for the network.

A prolific songwriter who's written over 100 songs already, Miley also does all her own singing on "Hannah Montana" in which she plays typical high school student Miley Stewart, who leads a secret life as an international pop singing sensation.

A "Hannah Montana" soundtrack will "come out this summer and I'm singing on every song. I'll also be doing a little bit of touring," says Miley, who recently signed a four-album deal with Hollywood Records.

Billy Ray is also gearing up to head out on the road in support of his first non-gospel album in about five years called, "Wanna Be Your Joe." Unfortunately, he says Miley won't be going on tour with him.

"I think she's got some other options out there that far exceed touring with her old man," he says proudly, revealing that Miley is now laying plans to go out this summer with one of the hottest girl groups out there.

"It's going to be huge," he says, but adds the ink's not signed on the deal so mum's the word.

However, some of Billy Ray's audiences will get an unexpected treat.

"I know she's going to be out there riding around on the bus with me on the west coast, so she's going to do some stuff with me where she just shows up," he says. "One thing in particular they're talking about us doing is the Middle California State Fair and there's some different things."

It's an important time for the family to be as together as possible since Miley's grandfather, Ronald Ray Cyrus, passed away in February.

"They're extremely sad," says Cyrus of Miley and her siblings, Noah Lindsey, Trace, Brandi, Braison Chance and Christopher.

"In early February Miley and I flew to New York to do 'Showbiz Tonight' on CNN, recalls Billy Ray. "My dad was back home in Kentucky and she said 'Hi to Pappy,' that's what she called him. He was glad." Billy Ray says Miley had "written him a song called 'I Miss You,' which was in one of the first episodes of 'Hannah' that aired but he didn't get to see that episode."

He adds that Miley's Pappy "knew Miley was going to be a star from the beginning. He always said it.

"That was her path and what she wanted to do and I'll tell you what, she absolutely worked her butt off to get to this point. She took classes and studied and went to auditions and applied herself. And I am very proud of the fact she worked for it and this didn't just happen for her."

Now, says Billy Ray, the only advice he offers his on-the-brink-of-superstardom daughter is, "If you ain't havin' fun, it ain't workin'!"

Sounds like the best advice of all.

Alot huh?? Earlier in the year there was much controversy about this cute-girl-next-door about her Vanity Photoshoot which snapped her half-naked, which was supposed to look artistic and was done without her father's prescence. Though i have no idea what really happened, i guess that was a very difficult moment in Miley's career when many criticized her for that shoot, but well she got up and managed to move on. But i totally found the photo sick. It made her look so frail and well too fragile?? Or maybe like as though she was poverty stricken. I totally didn't like that photo.

When a photograph of child star Miley Cyrus - with a naked back, damp hair, and draped in a satin sheet - appeared in Vanity Fair, it caused outrage.

In today's Guardian Germaine Greer deconstructs the image in question, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz.

As Greer describes, sexing up little girls is nothing new: "In western art most of the women portrayed semi-clad or totally nude are children ... When Lucian Freud paints girl children nobody cares ... Botticelli paints the yet-to-be-enjoyed goddess of love emerging from the sea, people come from all over the world to gape at her. The Greeks and Romans liked their goddesses meaty; our preferred Venuses are children. Hardy perennials such as Diane de Poitiers held their sway as long as they did because their bodies never matured. Kate Moss has been able to earn millions only as long as she could continue to project the body image of a 13-year-old."

So why the moral uproar over a photograph which is essentially the same thing? Even if, as Greer purports, Leibovitz's dirty postcard aesthetic depicts Cyrus as post-coital, or even worse a child prostitute and Disney her pimp, isn't this just a depressingly conventional piece of iconography?

Elsewhere, Zoe Williams dismisses the moral outcry over Cyrus's decency as a storm in a teacup. She is concerned, yet unsurprised, by the betrayal of the child star.

"It's the insincerity of everyone concerned that really chokes me," she writes. "Not one person involved can seriously think Miley Cyrus had any kind of influence over this, or any other, image-building decision."

Is the photographer to blame? Do you agree, as Stuart Jeffries suggests, that Leibovitz has "become something of a hack, an obliging furnisher of kitsch"? Or is Cyrus correct to maintain that her portrait is "artsy"?

And she recently launched her new album, Breakout, and the song 7 things was rumoured to be about Nick Jonas, the brother of Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas who all of em form the band Jonas Brothers.

And well she gave an interview in Seventeen Magazine and finally admitted that both dated.

Miley Cyrus has finally confirmed her long-rumored relationship with fellow Disney star Nick Jonas in an extensive interview in the forthcoming September issue of Seventeen magazine.

While neither had previously confirmed the relationship, it has long been the subject of media speculation — Cyrus said in the interview that "it was really hard to keep it from people."

"Nick and I loved each other," Cyrus told the magazine. "We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn't fun."

(Nick and the brothers held a press conference on Wednesday talking about their new single, the lyrics of which address Nick's diabetes.)

Miley admitted that things got dark for her after the two broke up at the end of 2007 — so dark that she even dyed her hair black to reflect how sad she was. "At first I bawled for a month straight," she said. "I was so sad. I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black.

"When we were dating, Nick wanted me to get highlights — and so I did that, and I got myself looking great," she continued. "And then, on the day we broke up, I was like, 'I want to make my hair black now — I don't want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core.' I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be. And then I was like, 'I've got to be by myself for now and just figure out who I really am.' "

The brothers were quick to come to Miley's defense in the wake of her controversial Vanity Fair photos earlier this year.

The 15-year-old superstar said she currently isn't involved with anyone, and she likes it that way. "Since [the breakup], I've realized that I've met so many great guys, but I like being the girl nobody can have," she added. "No one can touch me, no one's mine. I'm myself. I think it's sexy to do your own thing."

Although Nick is rumored to have found love with "Wizards of Waverly Place" star Selena Gomez, Miley hasn't given up on the idea that maybe, someday, she and Nick might rekindle their love affair.

"Maybe he'll be my best friend for the rest of my life," she speculated, "or maybe I'll end up marrying Nick Jonas!"

That was well after the much speculated rumours and all. She admitted it, but it doesn't end here. Now, Cody Linley, who starred in a few episodes of Hannah Montanna, is rumoured to be the new hearthrob of Miley. Whats can i say?

MILEY CYRUS has fuelled rumours she is dating fellow teen star CODY LINLEY, after the pair was spotted leaving the actor's Los Angeles apartment late at night.
In the past Cyrus has confessed her crush on the 18 year old, who plays her love interest in TV show Hannah Montana.
She once said, "He is so much fun to look at. He's really fun and down to earth. And he's hot!"
Linley was dating Camp Rock actress Demi Lovato until their recent split - and gossips claims 15-year-old Cyrus has pounced on the newly-single hunk.
They were snapped as Linley drove the pair away from his L.A. pad on 2 September (08). An onlooker says, "Cody opened the door of his Mustang for Miley, who had a huge smile on her face. She couldn't keep her eyes off him."
But Linley insists he and Cyrus are just good friends: "She came over, and Miley, my roommate and I all painted. We splatter-painted. Right now, we're just very close friends.

Well there's more, suggestive pictures of Miley was posted on Myspace and in yahoo search engines, some showing her shwoing her bra, showing her tummy, sprawled against a guy showing her tummy and her doing many things.

You never know whats gonna happen with this girl. New flings and many bad decisions, its kinda worrying if she's a good role model. Well i agree, she's only a teen and that we all make mistakes in our life, but shouldn't she be more careful in the media.

She even mocked Selena Gomez and Demi Loavato on Youtube. Though she apologized, wasn't that mean of her and well she shouldn't have done it in the first place.

Many people think that she's going to become the next Britney Spears. Well Britney in the making, but well it looks to be like, but i am quite positive though there has been many rumours and stuff about her, she would turn out to be quite different. At least not as bad as Britney herself, but well time would tell. And you never know what the future might be.

P.S If you think i wrote this article well, give me a thumbs up or a comment. I would appreciate it.
I edited it and well and added pics, sry for the inconvenience
